Happy Birthday!!

On November 30, it was my siser Breonna's 17th birthday. While she was at school, my sisters and I made her some birthday cards. After she got home, we had pizza. Right before we had cake, my older sister, Jasmyne, her boyfriend, my grandma Gloria, and my Uncle Michel came over. During cake, we turned on the TV and watched The Grinch. I had a lot of fun.

This Saturday, Breonna is going to have a party with all her friends and our cousins.... I am not sure if I am invited, but eather way, I am going to crash the party anyway!! :D lol

Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I like Christmas because you get presents. Also, I like Christmas because it celebrates the birth of Jesus. Finally, I like Christmas because you get to be with your family. Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the presents, Jesus, and you get to be with family.

Paranormal Activity

Paranormal Activity is also one of my favorite movies. I like Paranormal Activity because it is scary. Also, I like it because of the suspence in it. Finally, I like the movie Paranormal Activity because in the end, the girls retarded boyfriend gets killed. I like the movie Paranormal Activity because it is scary, it has suspence, and because the retarded guy dies.

Hercules

My favorite movie is Hercules. I like Hercules because it is funny. Also, I like Hercules because it is a good family movie. Finally, Hercules is my favorite movie because when he became a hero, people stopped making fun of him. Hercules is my favorite movie becasue it is funny, it's a great movie to watch as a family, and because when he becomes a hero, everyone stops making fun of him.

Dragon Rider

Dragon Rider is one of my favorite book. I like Dragon Rider because it has adventure. Also, it has made up things,like fairies. Finally, I like Dragon Rider because it has a happy ending exactly how I imaged it. I like the book Dragon Rider because of the adventure, the make beleive things, and the happy ending.

Hawaii

Hawaii is my favorite vacation place. Hawaii is my favorite vacation place because there are a lot of beaches. Also, I like Hawaii because I like all the stores that are there. Finally, I like Hawaii because it is always hot, so you get to go swimming. I like Hawaii because of the beaches, the shopping stores, and you get to go swimming.

Regal Eagle

Today at Regal Eagle, we talked about being considerate. Being considerate means caring about others. We watched a video about people who are mentally ill, homeless, or poor. They also read a story to us about a kid who was made fun of. For an example for how people feel when they are made fun of, they used a big paper heart. Everytime the kid in the story was made fun of, they tore a piece of the heart off. By the end of the story, the heart was torn to pieces, and there was only a tiny bit of the bottom part left.

I all ready knew that making fun of people was wrong, but the video that they showed us really meant something to me. It meant that even though I am not made fun of, there are other people who are. Those other people are made fun of so much, that at the end of the day, they just feel like theri heart has been torn into pieces. So I have decided to not make fun of people, and to help them out when other people are making fun of them.

I feel that what Martin Luther King Jr. said in "I Have a Dream" is true. People should get along, and not hate because of the color of skin. I believe that people should not be judged on their race, but by their character and personality. But, no matter how hard we try, some people just don't agree. I agree with him when he says that people are created equal.

The Grimke Sisters

The Grimke sisters are very couragious. They are very couragious because even though woman couldn't speak to the public, the Grimke sisters spoke out anyway. Also, the Grimke sisters are very independent. They are independent because even though the abolitionest movement leaders asked them not to speak out about woman's rights, they still did. Finally, the Grimke sisters are very strong woman, because they wouldn't give up even though people continued to make fun of them, and threw stuff at them. In conclusion, that is how the Grimke sisters are couragious, independent, and stroong people.

Class Discussion

Mr. Flores: I think that Mr. Flores is a nice teacher.I think he is nice because he didn't get mad at his class for making paper airplanes. Alos, he made a joke put of the airplanes, and let the students who made them get them back secretly.

Cricket: I think Cricket is an annoying little know-it-all. If I knew her, I would never talk to her.

Julio: I think that Julio is a good student. He likes to have fun, but he is also serious when it comes to something important.

Zoe: I think that Zoe is also a godo student. I think that she is a nice person too.

Lucas: I think that Lucas is someone who likes to do pranks, and act up when the teacher has their back turned. He got lucky when his teacher, Mr. Flores, didn't get him in trouble for making paper airplanes.

Joyce: I think that Joyce is a girly-girl. She wanted to plant flowers, which might be a good idea, but she wanted to plant them all around the school.

Jennifer: Jennifer is a very popular girl, but if I knew her, I wouldn't talk to her. This is because I think she's to stuck up.

Skye Skylark and the Case of the Stolen Jewlry

Hi, my name is Skye Skylark. I am tweleve years old, and I love to solve mysteries. In fact,I love them so much that I made a club with all my friends. The only problem is that every mystery that we want to solve, our parents tell us no because we are too much trouble. That is why when the case of the missing jewlry was open for investegation, we took the job. Maybye I should tell you from the begining. It was about one year ago on my eleventh birthday, when my parents decided to take me to the jewlry store to buy a necklace.

"Are we there yet?", my little brother Micheal asked. Micheal is very impatient, and he gets car sick a lot. "Shut up Mike.", I said. "We have only been in the car for five minutes and you are all ready crying over stuff. "Skye and Micheal Skylark!", my mother cried. "Must you kids argue over everything?" Well, I thought, At least I am not the pain in the neck here. Micheal is. After about ten more minutes in the car my father finally anounced," Here we are! The best jewlry store on town." I lookes up at the huge store. It was about two stores high, and painted a nice blue color. It was peeling from oldness, but that didn't stop the amount of customers the old store attracted.

It took us ten minutes to find a parking space, and about five more minutes to get out of the crowded space of the parking lot. Once in the store, I was free to wander where ever I wishedm to look for some new jewlry. Right when I thought I had found what I wanted, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this beutiful golden necklace sparkling in the light. Right then, a man dressed in all black was standing next to me. Before I knew it, he was grabbing hold of the necklace and stuffing it in a little leather bag.

Then, he was running. He ran out the door and into the street. But he didn't have long to wait until the police came. Ten minutes after the police came, the news cameras came. I really wanted to tell the news reporter about what I saw, but my parents sent Mike to come and get me. " Come on Skye. Mom and dad are waiting in the car, let's go!" I walked out the store, but Mike, always in a hurry to get anywere, ran like the ground was on fire. By the time I got in the car, I was really mad that I didn't get a new necklace. " We're sorry Skye," my dad said," We'll come back later and get you what you want." Well, I thought, That wasn't possible because the only thing I wanted was that beutiful golden necklace. " How about this," My mom said. " You can invite your little group of friend over and you can have a sleepover." That sounded fun, so right when we got home, I phoned up all my friends.

Two hours later, everyone I had invited was over, and I decided to tell them what had happend that day. "Wow", Julia said."No wonder you're so bumbed out." "Yah", Sarah agreed. Then my best friend, Ammy, said," Do you think that the case is open for decective investegation?" " That is exactly what I was thinking!" I replied. "But there is only one problem", said Julia. " Our parents won't let us do the case." " Julia, think, if they don't know, then they can't tell us no!", Sarah said. Of course! That is what we would do! We just won't tell our parents. Why didn't I think of that?, I thought, getting excited.


The next day, we all got to go back to the jewlry store. My friends and I went back to the seen of the crime. No finger prints, and surprisingly, no cameras. "Wow,no wonder he wasn't caught already", I said. "Yah", said Sarah. " No cameras or anything!"

Central Tendency

There are four ways to describe Central Tendency. They are mean, median, mode, and range.

Mean is the average. The way you find the mean is by first adding all the numbers in the problem. Then, you divide the sum by the number of addends.

Next, is the median. The meadian is the middle number. The way you find the median is by first ordering the numbers from least to greatest. Then, you find the number in the middle. If there are two middle numbers, then you have to find the mean.

After the median, is mode. The way to find the mode is by again putting the numbers from least to greatest. Then you just find the number that appers most in the problem.

Finally, there is the range. To find the range you again put the numbers from least to greatest. After that, you find the lowest and highest numbers. Lastly, you subtract the small number from the high number.

In conclusion, that is how you find the four ways of Central Tendency.

Mask

Today, we had a Reagle Eagle Assembly. The topic was about keeping your 'mask' off at school. When I say mask, I mean the attitude you have at school, or the way you act at school, and how it's different from the way you act at home. They talked about acting like yourself, and not like someone else to impress your friends. Let's say that at home, you act very nice, and then when you go to school you act mean, and you cuss, and you do stuff that you know you shouldn't do. Some people even wear a mask when their at home, because they don't want anybody, not even their family, to see the pain or the anger inside them.

I don't really like to hurt people, and when I do, I feel bad inside but I don't share it with other people. I guess I've been putting up an guard too, I just don't feel it's not important for other people to know what I am feeling inside.

Recess

For recess I would like some softball, and baseball stuff. Also, I would like to be able to play dodgeball. Finally, I would like some new play equitment, the ones that we have are old, and no one goes on them anymore. Other than that, I just like to talk to my friends, and hang out at recess.

Vacation

During my vacation, my family and I went camping with my aunty. It took us all day to get to the camp sight. When we finally got there, my aunty and uncle had already set up the tents for us. My sisters and I sat by the campfire and drew pictures, while my uncle BBQd dchicken and hot dogs. After we ate, we had smores, I had about five or six. I wqas so tired after that, that I didn't have to help put the food away. The next morning, nobody was awake except for my mom, so she took me to the bathrooms to get dressed. When we got back, everybody was awake and getting the food out of the cars. I only had hot chocolate because I wasn't very hungry. Later on, more people came by the camp sight, because we were celebrating my aunty's birthday. For dinner that night, we had more chicken, pasta, corn on the cob, and hot dogs. Late at night, I left with my parents, and my sister Breonna. My little sisters, Mariah and Jaylin, ended up staying a few more days. I had alot of fun camping, even if it was only for one day.


About a week later, myy sisters and I went to the fair with my Grandpa Patrick. My sister made me go on alot of rides that I didn't want to go on, but they ended up being fun anyway. When I asked to go on them again she said no because they gave her a headache!!

bordom

I am so bored right now. The reason that I am bored is because everyone is tired and laying down except for me. I am also bored because I didn't get a new DS game today, so I have to play my old ones. My final reason for being bored is because I have no one to hang out with, because my cousin is in school, and my friends can't come because my Grandma watches me during the day. In conclusion, I am bored because I am the only one no tired, I have to play my old DS gamesm=, and because I have no one to hag out with. =D

Education

When President Obama said that 'There is no better path to oppertunity that an education that can unlock a childs God-given potential' he meant that if you give your children a good education, you can open up a path of success for them, a path that can help them grow up and be something successful. If your child is being treated with inequality, make them a successful child, let them have a good education. What President Obama's speach meant to me, is that as long as I believe in myself, I can become successful.

Xbox

President Obama said that parents need to put away the Xbox and put their kids to bed at a reasonable hour, means that parents need to make sure their kids are doing their homework and not playing video games all day long. That parents need to make sure that their kids go to bed on time so they can be ready for school, and not sleep through class. President Obama said that parents need to accept their responseibility to help children learn, that means that if children need help to understand something, it is their job to tell their parents, and it is the parents job to help their children understand. If children don't understand something, they are goign to get bad grades, and their parents will not be happy with them. Instead of getting mad at their children, parents should ask them questions and help them out.

Aspire

When President Obama said that, he meant that he doesn't want children growing up and being in jail for the rest of their lifes because they are murderers, he wants children to grow up and be successful. He wants them to be teachers, doctors, and scientist. What this means to me is that I know not to grow up and be an unsuccessful person(not that I was planning to be unsuccessful.) I agree with him because I want to be successful, and I want my sisters to be successful too. I wish that people would plan to be more successful.

Destiny

When President Obama said that, he meant that kids are able to choose their own future. He meant that people can't tell kids what they are going to become, what they are going to do in their life. He means that what ever kids want to become, they can do it, there are no excuses. I agree with him. I agree that I am the one to choose my own destiny. To choose what, and who I become, and nobody can tell me otherwise. President Obama wants kids not to listen when adults say that they will not succeed in what they want to do when they grow up, that they are the ones that are going to choose their child's destiny. I believe in myself, and I believe in what Obama says. Nobody can tell me my future..... nobody.

My Favorite Book Series

Twilight is my favorite book series. I like Twilight because it has vampires and werewolves. Another reason I like Twilight is because it has alot of mysteries, and action. Finally, I like Twilight because in the last book Edward and Bella get married, and they get to keep their baby. In conclusion, those are the reasons why Twilight is my favorite book series.

My Favorite Cereal

If I had to eat one kind of cereal three times a day, I would choose Rice Krispeys. I like Rice Krispeys because they make noise when you pour in milk, and it taste REALLY good. I also like Rice Krispeys because you can also make snacks with them.

Wilma Rudolph

During her whole life, Wilma Rudolph had to persevere and over come many different challanges. When Wilma was little, she had to over come measles, and many other sicknesses. She also caugh a disease that made her unable to walk. Later on, she entered the olimpics.

The Shakespeare Stealer

My story is about an orphan named Widge who is adopted by someone who teaches him how to write in scribbles. Then, Widge gets sent to a new Master, who wants him to write down a play by Shakespeare in his secret writing so his Master could sell it and be rich.

The charachers in my story are Widge, Dr.Lopez, Falconer, and Simon Bass. Widge is an orphan with a bowl shaped hair cut.
Dr. Lopez is a writer, and a docter. Falconer has a long nose, and dresses in long black robes that cover his face. Simon Bass
is Widge's Master, and is bold and has a red face.

The story takes place in London. Widge had to travel a long way to obay his Master, and steal the play.

What has happened in my story so far is Widge gets bought from Dr.Lopez to go to his new Master named Simon Bass. Falconer was sent to recieve him. When Widge finally meets Simon, he is given a task that he must obay. His task is to go to one of Shakespear's plays and write it down. when Widge finally gets into the play, he gets caught up in all the action.

Treehouse

If I had to choose to live in a treehouse, a tent, or a cave for on week, i would choose a treehouse. For example, I would choose a treehouse because tents are uncomforable, and there could be wild animals inside a cave.

My Goals

My goals for sixth grade is to get past one hundred on the Reading Score Bord. Also, I would like to improve my math and writing skills. My science skills need some improving too. I also need to work on my social study skills. Ans those are my goals for sixth grade.
